Day 1: Arrive Mumbai 
Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra, is the commercial capital of India. Mumbai is a lively city, its people constantly on the move. It is home to millions of people from the country and the world, who come here as tourists, workers, students, businesspersons or actors. It has been heavily influenced by the liberalization of the economy.

Upon arrival at Mumbai International Airport, a pinkEscapes representative will meet you and assist with the transfer and check-in at the hotel.

Spend one night in Mumbai.

Day 2: In Mumbai 
After breakfast, go sightseeing in Mumbai with your guide. Visit the Gateway of India, located on the waterfront in the Apollo Bunder area of South Mumbai, which was built to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary to Bombay, prior to the Delhi Durbar, in December 1911. Later, take a short ferry ride to the island of Elephanta, famous for its rock-cut caves which display remarkable craftsmanship by artists of the late 5th to the late 8th century. Enjoy lunch at a city café / restaurant to experience the pulsating street life of Mumbai.

Continue your tour with the Dhobi Ghat, the largest open-air laundry in the world, where sheets and garments from Mumbai's hotels, hospitals and other establishments are hand-washed. Visit Mani Bhavan, where Mahatma Gandhi often stayed on his visits to Mumbai and initiated the Non-Cooperation Movement, maintained as a memorial since 1955. Drive to the Fort area to view colonial architecture.

Day 3: Mumbai – Nagpur - Pench 
Enjoy an hour-long, relaxing in-room massage by a pleasant Gay massage therapist to rejuvenate you.

In the afternoon, go to the airport to board your flight for Nagpur. Upon arrival you will be met by a pinkEscapes representative, proceed to Pench overland (approx. 2.5 hours) and check-in at the hotel.

Pench National Park, nestling in the lower southern reaches of the Satpuda Hills, is named after Pench River, which meanders through the park from north to south. Pench Tiger Reserve and its neighborhood is the original setting of Rudyard Kipling's most famous work, The Jungle Book.

The undulating topography supports a mosaic of vegetation; over 1200 species of plants have been recorded from the area, including several rare and endangered plants, as well as plants of ethno-botanical importance. The high habitat heterogeneity favors a large population of Chital and Sambar. The Pench Tiger Reserve has the highest density of herbivores in India (90.3 animals per sq km).

Day 4: In Pench 
Go on jeep safaris in the morning and late afternoon through Pench’s dry deciduous forest of teak trees and meandering jungle streams to explore the wilderness and spot the region’s rich wildlife.

The park boasts a number of endangered species that have made it their home. Apart from the magnificent tiger, Pench has large numbers of wild pigs, nilgai, chital, muntjacs, gaur and four horned antelopes. Leopards, sloth bears, wild dogs, porcupines, jungle cats, foxes and striped hyenas are also found here. However, national parks in Madhya Pradesh avoid safaris on Wednesday afternoons, so resorts conduct other activities on those days.

Go for guided nature walks or cycle through the neighboring villages and experience a way of life unique to the region.

Day 5: Pench-Kanha 
After breakfast, drive to Kanha. (approx. 3.5 hours), and upon arrival, check-in at the hotel.

The Kanha National Park is best known for Barasingha, the swamp deer. The Tiger Tour is a great option for nature lovers visiting Kanha. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure and enjoy a rejuvenating traditional massage at the spa. Hotel offers a variety of activities to suit almost all tastes.

Day 6: In Kanha 
Explore the park and view wildlife during the early morning and evening jeep safaris. Kanha's mixed forests are interspersed with vast meadows, known as maidans, which support a high density of herbivores, including chital, barasingha, sambar and gaur, which in turn attract predators, such as the tiger, dhole or leopard to the fringes of the clearings. Perennial streams run through a number of such meadows, providing a source of water for the wildlife even in hot summers.

Observe the region’s rich wildlife, including the tiger, leopard, sloth bear, wolf, hyena and jackal, as well as the hardwater barasingha, nilgai, sambar, chital and wild boar, on elephant safaris. The swamp deer, or hardwater barasingha, populates the large open tracks of grass amidst the forests of teak and bamboo. Brought back from the brink of extinction, these handsome animals are a remarkable conservation success story for Kanha.

In the Evening, pause at Sunset Point to watch the sun sinking down over the jungle before enjoying dinner served on the spacious jungle deck or in a surprise jungle sets.

Day 7: Kanha-Bandhavgarh 
After breakfast, drive to Bandhavgarh (approx. 5 to 6 hours), and, upon arrival, check-in at the hotel. Spend the day at leisure and get a private introduction to yoga and meditation by a master. Or immerse in the relaxation therapies at the hotel SPA. Or laze around in the bewilderness.

Day 8: In Bandhavgarh 
Enjoy jeep safaris in the morning and late afternoon through Bandhavgarh’s dramatic landscape, from tropical forests and woodlands, to steep rocky hills with flat grasslands. Famed for its tiger sightings, Bandhavgarh National Park is one of India’s most beautiful reserves. With its high tiger density, it is a prime destination for viewing this rare and beautiful animal. View the region’s rich wildlife, including tiger, sloth bear, leopard, jungle cat, and wild dog. Try your luck at spotting Mahua Kothi’s ten Star Birds, from the gorgeous Indian peafowl (peacock) to the shaheen falcon. Go on an elephant ride to spot the tiger.

In the quiet midday hours between game drives, explore the sprawling grounds of the hotel or the surroundings in the company of your naturalist. Learn about the jungle vegetation and keep an eye out for fascinating insects. Watch colourful birds and butterflies flutter by, and try to identify them from your Star Birds list.

Day 9: Bandhavgarh-Khajuraho 
After breakfast, drive to Khajuraho (approx. 5 hours).

Khajuraho boasts the splendid temples built by the Chandela Rajputs who ruled this part of India in the 10-12th century. These temples are known for their exquisitely carved erotic sculptures. The Khajuraho group of monuments has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is considered to be one of the "seven wonders" of India.

On arrival at the hotel, check in and unwind. In the evening, you are taken to a musical extravaganza.

Day 10: Khajuraho - Varanasi 
After breakfast, your guide takes you to tour the Western and Eastern group of temples built during the apogee of the Chandela dynasty. Return to the hotel, check out and proceed to the airport for a short flight to Varanasi. Have lunch on board.

Varanasi is named after the confluence of two rivers, Varuna and Asi. It is one of the most sacred cities in the world today. At its center are the ghats that line the waterfront, each honoring Shiva in the form of a Linga - the rounded phallic shaft of stone found on each ghat.

In the evening, visit the Mother India Temple- a unique temple dedicated to Mother India carved using a single piece of marble. Later, use a rickshaw to the ghats to witness the Ganga Aarti at sunset. You will pass through crowded bazaars and the older part of this ancient city. The Aarti ceremony, with bells jingling, mantras being chanted and lamps floated on the river is an unforgettable experience.

Day 11: Varanasi – Delhi 
Go to the Ganges early in the morning for a boat ride and a sightseeing tour of the city. Let the master preach as the boat cruises to sunrise. Visit the temples in the city after the sightseeing tour and before you return to the hotel for breakfast and a leisurely morning. In the afternoon, go to the airport to catch a flight for Delhi.

Delhi, the administrative and political capital of India, is a major tourist attraction and a perfect start for a holiday in India, because of its rich heritage and cultural past, revealed in its monuments, parks, Government buildings and other places of interest. Delhi’s attractions range from forts and monuments dating back a thousand years to modern shopping malls, nightclubs and golf courses, as well as a wide range of cuisines to suit every taste.

Day 12: Delhi 
After breakfast, explore Delhi, the city of contrasts.

Take a rickshaw ride in Chandni Chowk, to view all that Old Delhi has to offer. Visit the Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India, with a courtyard capable of holding 25,000 devotees. Also view the Red Fort on the western bank of the river Yamuna, reminiscent of the glory of the Mughal Era.

Enjoy lunch at one of the city’s oldest restsaurants, famous for its delectable cuisine and interesting ambience.

Later, visit some of New Delhi’s other historic wonders. Visit Humayun’s Tomb, the first garden-tomb in the Indian subcontinent and the inspiration for several monuments including the Taj Mahal. Then, drive past the stately India Gate, a soldier’s memorial and other magnificent buildings designed by Lutyens that exemplify the modern-day grandeur of Delhi Also visit the Qutub Minar, one of the finest Islamic structures ever raised in India.
